In response to information suggesting an increased risk of West Nile virus transmission, the Mosquito Extermination Commission will be conducting an adult mosquito control operation in residential streets on WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 27, 2014 between 8:00 pm and 12:00 midnight in the following areas:

1.  TINTON FALLS, are west of Green Grove Road and east of the Garden State Parkway bounded by West Park Avenue tot he north and Asbury Avenue to the south.

2.  OCEAN TOWNSHIP, Wayside area from Green Grove Road wast to Route 18 and bounded by West Park Avenue to the north an Asbury Avenue to the south.

Rain date will be Thursday, August 28, 2014 between 8:00 pm and 12:00 midnight.

The Commission will be using the product Zenivex applied using Ultra-Low-Volume equipment mounted on pick-up trucks.  While the USEPA does not require special precautions to be taken, residents are advised to minimize exposure to the pesticide by staying indoors, keeping windows shut, closing the event to outside air on window air conditioners and turning off window fans.  Residents should also bring in pet food and water dishes and portable children's toys.

The Borough of Tinton Falls will be hosting its 16th Annual Community Day on Saturday, October 11, 2014 from 3 PM - 7 PM at the Sycamore Recreation Complex.  Click here to find out more information on becoming a Sponsor! 

Within the area of the Garden State Parkway interchange project, Hope Road will be closed while drainage improvements are being installed starting Monday, August 11, 2014.  All work will be conducted at night and the road will be opened prior to the morning rush hour.  Detour routes will be established.  

Please take notice that the Regular Meeting of the Tinton Falls Zoning Board, to be held on Thursday, September 4, 2014 at Seabrook Village, in the Town Square Building, 3000 Essex Road, Tinton Falls, NJ at 7:30 PM has been CANCELLED. 

Please take notice that the application for Jersey Shore Motocross for property located at Block 138 Lots 2.03, 2.04, and part of 2.05 and part of Lot 5 will be carried to the September 18, 2014 meeting.  The meeting will be held at the Seabrook Village, in the Town Square building, 3000 Essex Road, Tinton Falls, NJ at 7:30 PM. 

Monmouth County Division of Engineering continues to advance the intersection realignment and bridge construction project on Asbury Avenue (County Route 16).  Asbury Avenue will be detoured around the new bridge construction for approximately 8 to 10 weeks.  The detour will loop around the construction onto Essex Road and back onto Asbury Avenue.  Access to Essex Road from Asbury Avenue is restricted for the duration of the detour.  Access to Essex Road will only be available from Jumping Brook Road (near Walmart).  The  full closure of Essex Road will occur at Seabrook Village.  Advance warning signs will be posted throughout the area along with Seabrook Village directional signage. Detour signage will also be posted at the Outlet Mall driveways directing motorists south on Essex Road. 

The Farm Stand at the Crawford House is OPENING for the season on July 19!  It will be open Saturdays from 9 AM to 12 NOON during the growing season, with vegetables fresh-picked from the garden!  Quantities will vary, depending on what is ripe in the garden, so come early!  All proceeds benefit the Friends of the Crawford House.  Click here for more information.

In 2013, Monmouth County was chosen to participate in the New Jersey "Assessment Demonstration Program" which is intended to provide a more cost effective and accurate process for property assessments, including the annual adjustment of assessments to reflect changes in the market.  Click here to learn more about the "Assessment Demonstration Program." 

A portion of Hockhockson Road is closed due to bridge repair.  Hockhockson Road will be impassable in each direction at the bridge, located just east of Water Street.  The bridge and road closure will continue for 24 hours a day for at least two weeks until bridge repairs are complete.  Please plan alternate route.
