Directions for Applicants seeking Cannabis Licensing in the Borough of Tinton Falls
Before submitting an application to Tinton Falls for a cannabis license, you must have either: (1) a CRC-issued conditional license; or (2) a pending annual license application with the CRC that is fully complete except for a resolution of support from a municipality.
Conditional applications to the Cannabis Regulatory Commission (CRC) can be completed online. Visit the Cannabis Regulatory Commission (CRC) website and apply here https://www.nj.gov/cannabis/businesses/ Applicant must be fingerprinted when applying.
Once you have obtained your conditional license from the CRC or have fully completed an annual license application, click on the link below during February 15th through March 15th to submit your application to Tinton Falls. Hard copy applications will not be accepted. At this time, please use the button below to view a sample application. The Borough has already issued letters of support for two (2) applicants for a Class 5 (retail) license, which is the maximum authorized by ordinance, no further applications for a Class 5 (retail) license will be accepted or considered by the Borough.

An application fee of $2,500 for each license will be required during the application process. Application fees are non-refundable.
Completed endorsement applications will be reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis and will be evaluated on the quality of the required elements.
The Cannabis Sub-Committee will review completed endorsement applications promptly and make appropriate recommendations to the Borough Council for action. Only those applications received during the stated control period will be submitted to the Sub-Committee for review.
Upon the Borough Council’s approval, a resolution of support will be issued to the applicant.
Upon confirmation of approval by the CRC, the Borough will then issue a license. The licensing fee of $10,000 will be required to be paid prior to the issuance of a license.
