MCRC Landfill Odor Reporting Instructions

1. Call 24-hour NJDEP Hotline at 1-877 WARN DEP (1-877-927-6337).
   
   
2. NJDEP will take your information and either send out their own investigator or transfer the complaint to the Monmouth County Health Department for follow-up.
   
   
3. If transferred to the Health Department, they will call you to confirm the odor is still present and then send an inspector to your property.
   
   
4. Complete the inspector’s “Statement of Complaint Form” for NJDEP/County records. This is needed to file an official complaint.
   
   
5. Please take note of the complaint number assigned to your case when reporting to NJDEP/County. This is a minimum requirement when submitting the online form on the Borough website.
   
   
6. Complete the Borough’s online Landfill Report Log to summarize and record all information.
     
7. Retain your confirmation email for your records.
